Extreme conditions mean high (up to +1500 degrees of Celsius) and low (up to –190 degrees of Celsius) temperatures, influence of mechanical and aerodynamic loadings (for example, spacecraft or ballistic missile).
The well known idea of multi-layer insulation, including sealed air spaces is used in the offered heat-shielding technology. However there is an innovation. The heat-shielding system is assembled by using several universal three-layer modules but not individual protective and insulating materials.
Materials of the layers in the module and their relative positions are chosen in view of its allowable temperature range and in view of a condition of optimization (minimal mass or cost).
Modules themselves and layers in each module are fastened together by original fastening means, forming assembly elements of heat-shielding system. The fastening means simultaneously fix a mutual position of the layers. A design of the fastening means allows reducing considerably a heat flow through details with high heat conductivity.
Modular assembly elements with limited sizes are joined among themselves by the reliable mechanical devices which provide sealing of joints between adjacent elements during changing of the temperature, so the overall tightness can be reached.
The offered technology allows isolating surfaces with complex configurations completely reliable. An application of special fastening-connecting means gives to heat-shielding system an ability to take mechanical and aerodynamic loads.
The technology provides for development of the heat-shielding CAD system with elements of optimization for concrete extreme conditions.
